Gameplay

  • The PM box magazine has 8 rounds.
  • Can be fired on only semi-automatic.
  • The sights for the PM include the iron sights only.
    • The iron sights have a fixed zero of 25m.
  • The PM has the slowest muzzle velocity out of all in-game pistols at 315 m/s.
    • The 652 rounds per minute is the maximum allowed rate of fire for the semi-automatic pistol.
  • The PM is classified in-game as the Pistol. Pistols are backup weapons with low stopping power and minimal suppression effect. They have moderate sway, regular point fire responsiveness, and slightly more recoil than Carbines due to their unsupported nature. Changing stances have minimal impact on Pistol's recoil and sway.
  • Using Pistols as a primary is not a good idea due to the low damage and severe damage dropoff at range, as they don't necessarily have more controllability than Short Rifles. But it can save your life in a pinch when the enemy is caught reloading or when your primary weapon is out of ammo.

History

The Makarov Pistol is a semi-automatic blowback action pistol. It is designed by Nikolay Makarov in 1948 and adopted by the Soviet Army in 1951 to replace the outdated TT33 Tokarev pistol and the Nagant M1895 revolver as the standard sidearm. The Makarov pistol ended its military service of the RGF in 2003 when it got replaced by the newer MP-443 Grach. The Makarov pistol is based on the German Walther PP pistol. The Makarov has an extremely simple design with a part count of 27, making it easier to manufacture and use. The Makarov Pistol has a double fire/single fire trigger mechanism and uses the 9x18mm Makarov cartridges.
