General Information[edit | edit source]

The Carl Gustaf recoilless rifle is an 84 mm man-portable reusable anti-tank weapon produced in Sweden. Introduced in 1946, it was one of the many recoilless rifle designs of that era. While similar weapons have generally disappeared from service, the Carl Gustaf is still being manufactured and remains in widespread use today.

Gameplay[edit | edit source]

The Carl Gustaf recoilless rifle is available to the US Army's (designated M3 MAAWS) and the Canadian Army's (designated Carl Gustav M2) Heavy Anti Tank roles.

The rocket launcher can fire both Tandem and High Explosive Anti-Tank (HEAT) rockets. In addition to the Tandem and HEAT rockets, the Carl Gustaf is the only rocket launcher capable of firing smoke rockets (M3 MAAWS variant only), which emit a large cloud of smoke at the point of impact. Note that this rocket is selected in the item row of 4 instead of 3. The high explosive anti-tank and smoke rockets each be accurately ranged up to 700 meters, whereas the tandem rocket can be ranged up to 500 meters. The M3 MAAWS optic has a built-in drop reticle which can be ranged up to 500 meters. The range and reticle work together, meaning if the range is set to 200 meters and the drop reticle placed at 200 meters, the rocket will be ranged for 400 meters. The rocket has an arming distance of 40 meters.
