But the enemy will be able to find out your general location by simply checking the area in which the tracer came from, which may make them more likely to target you once they know that you are shooting at them and/or you are a Machine Gunner. * The sights for the FN MAG include iron sights, M145 (4×), and MG0 (6×) optics. ** The iron sights allow the user to zero the machine gun for different ranges (from 100m to 1800m). ** The M145 (4×) optic allows the user to see enemies from long distances easily and engage enemies at longer ranges without the need to zero the weapon. This is a Bullet Drop Compensation scope designed with pre-determined hold-over marks. The scope is zeroed at 300 meters. ** The MGO (6×) allows the user to see enemies from long distances easily and engage enemies at longer ranges without the need to zero the weapon. * The FN MAG shares its damage model with the Maximi, and it has a considerably better accuracy. ** The 702 rounds per minute rate of fire is in the middle of the pack for an automatic weapon. ** The FN MAG shares its ballistic performance with QJY88; however, the latter has a slower rate of fire. ** Compared to the prevalent Soviet PKM, the FN MAG has lower damage, a higher rate of fire, and better muzzle velocity. * The FN MAG is classified in-game as the Medium Machine Guns. Medium Machine Guns have extremely uncontrollable sway, inadequate point fire responsiveness, and excessive recoil. Sway and recoil can be significantly reduced via prone or bipod. ** They output most suppression effects and are effective at medium to long ranges. * Firing the weapon with the bipod deployed is always preferred, creating a highly stable and accurate fire support platform. If the bipod cannot be used, firing the gun from the prone position is the next best option. ** Firing in short bursts will increase the overall accuracy. It will also conserve ammunition. * The FN MAG will not hurt hostile armored vehicles, but it can be used effectively against Technicals, Transports, or Logistics Trucks to kill or wound the occupants. It will also destroy Motorcycles. ** The FN MAG can penetrate bulletproof windows on light vehicles. == History == <!-- Keep the section short and concise.--> The FN MAG is a Belgian general-purpose machine gun designed in 1950. The weapon is chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO and has been used by more than 80 countries, and it has been made under license in several countries, including Argentina, Canada, Egypt, India, the United States of America and the United Kingdom. == Trivia == * Abbreviation meanings: ** The M in "M240B" stands for Model, B (Bravo) is for the variant and 240 is the model number. ** The L in "L7A2" stands for Land Service, 7 stands for the model number, A stands for Mark, and 2 stands for the type of Mark. == Gallery == <gallery> File:Fnmag1.jpg File:Fnmag2.jpg File:M240B in game.jpg Fnmag58.jpg </gallery> == Media == <div class="fpvideo"></div> == See also == * Machine Gunner * Weapons == External links == * FN MAG on Wikipedia and Wikimedia * M240 on Wikipedia and Wikimedia == References == Reflist Navbox vehicle armamentsNavbox weapons __FORCETOC__ __NOEDITSECTION__
