Gameplay[ | ]

  • The RKG-3 is a handheld anti-tank grenade.
  • The RKG-3 can be thrown 25 meters across a flat surface. The grenade detonates on impact instead of a timer.
  • With a shaped charge, The lethal damage blast radius is approximately 5 meters from the center, with further damage occurring within 10 meters of the detonation site.
    • It is uneconomical for anti-infantry role due to the splash damage has an egregious drop-off modifier of 3.5, and a close impact is needed for fatality.
  • The firepower of the RKG-3 anti-tank grenade should not be underestimated, as those grenades can penetrate more than 600mm of armor.
    • HEAT rounds are effective against light vehicles, and can easily damage unsupported vehicles with some quick tossing actions. It can penetrate every vehicle in-game, including main battle tanks, if the grenade impacts from the side and rear.
    • A currently known bug as of 4.3 is RKG-3's inability to damage vehicle components, such as wheels, tracks, and engines. Thus, players cannot immobilize vehicles with it.
    • The RKG-3 HEAT has a very high base damage similar to Heavy Anti-Tank launchers at 1400, despite being classified as Light HEAT. However, the penetration value is inadequate for heavy armor, as the grenade lacks a Tandem warhead. Though, the penetration value is slightly better than regular HEAT rockets.
    • The RKG-3 has a better flight velocity than normal grenades.
  • RKG-3 is the only handheld anti-tank grenade among all anti-tank weapons in-game, which gives it a unique damage model.
  • Armour calculation involves many factors that are not limited to simple base damage and penetration. The slope of the armor, its thickness, the angle of hit, all of that matter when the game engine decides if damage has been dealt to the target. Examine the vehicle armor models on Jensen's Range to learn where your shots will do damage.
    • Given the risk of closing in on enemy armor, it's wise to modify your playstyle with more ambush elements and stay in positions where enemy armor has limited visibility.

Trivia[ | ]

  • In Patch A16.1. RKG-3 was removed due to unresolvable bugs and was expected to return in a future update.
    • RKG-3 was reintroduced back to the game in Version 4.3 with the Irregular Militia rework, becoming one of their exclusive weapons. The grenade previously was available to the Insurgent's Raider role.
    • In Version 4.4, RKG-3 became available with the Insurgents' Raider Role again.
