The RPG-26 is a rocket launcher used by the Russian Ground Forces and Middle Eastern Alliance Light Anti-Tank kit. The RPG-26 fires a single 72.5 millimeter High Explosive Anti-Tank (HEAT) rocket.

General Information[ | ]

The RPG-26 was designed by the Bazalt company in the early 1980s and later adopted by the Soviet Army in 1985. The RPG-26 fires a single-stage rocket with jack-knife fins, which unfolds after launch. The rocket carries a 72.5-millimeter diameter high explosive anti-tank shaped-charge single warhead capable of penetrating 440 millimeters of armor, one meter of reinforced concrete, or one and a half meters of brickwork. It has a maximum effective range of around 250 meters.

Variants[ | ]

Added into the game as a Russian Ground Forces Light Anti-Tank weapon during alpha 10, as of the alpha 13 update, the Russian kits Light Anti-Tank consists of two load-outs, one equipped with the RPG-26 and the other kit is equipped with the RPG-7.

This kit is considered the Russian Ground Forces primary Light Anti-Tank kit and is restricted to four per team.

The rifle included in this kit is an AK-74M with a 1P78 optic. Each squad can only claim one primary and one secondary LAT kit, which unlocks when a squad reaches three and six players, respectively.

One of the Russian Heavy Anti-Tank kits also carries RPG-26 as supplement firepower.

Gameplay[ | ]

  • The RPG-26 is a single-shot, disposable launcher that fires one round and is then discarded.
  • The RPG-26 generates a back blast that can injure or kill anybody standing nearby behind the weapon when it's being fired.
  • The arming distance for all Light Anti-Tank rocket launchers is 15 meters. This was standardized in Version 7.0.[2]
    • Prior to Patch 6.0.1, the minimum arming range for the RPG-26 was 23m.
    • If you are too close to your target, the rocket will not detonate or deal any damage.
  • The RPG-26 is relatively short-ranged and uses simplistic iron sights.
    • Press X and then scroll with the mouse wheel to adjust the iron sights up or down.
  • It's effective against light armored vehicles.
    • With 440mm of penetration, RPG-26 should be used to destroy enemy vehicles, not enemy infantry.
    • Low splash damage and small blast radius make it unsuitable for anti-infantry.
  • Functionally, the RPG-26 is extremely similar to the M72 LAW used by Australian Defence Force, British Armed Forces, Canadian Army, US Army, and United States Marine Corps.
    • The RPG-26 rocket has the same base damage, splash damage, arming distance, and ballistic performance as the M72 LAW. Both weapons also have a similar sight aperture and maximum effective range.
    • However, RPG-26 has a higher penetration of 440mm RHA, whereas M72 only has 320mm.
      • This is more in alignment with the M136 of the US Army.
  • When you reload your ammunition from an ammo crate, your launcher is not automatically ready to fire the next time you switch to it. You must switch to the launcher, finish the animation of discarding the old launcher, and then arm the new one.
  • Armour calculation involves many factors that are not limited to simple base damage and penetration. The slope of the armor, its thickness, the angle of hit, all of that matter when the game engine decides if damage has been dealt to the target. Examine the vehicle armor models on Jensen's Range to learn where your shots will do damage.

Trivia[ | ]

  • RPG stands for Ручной Противотанковый Гранатомёт - Ruchnoy Protivotankoviy Granatomyot in Russian which in English means Hand-held anti-tank grenade launcher. An unofficial abbreviation of the RPG is "rocket-propelled grenade".
