==General Information== Manufacturered by Sikorsky Aircraft, the '''UH-60''' design won the [[US Army|U.S Army]]’s Utility-Tactical-Transport-Aircraft-System (UTTAS) competition in 1976, and was introduced to service in 1979. The aircraft was intended to replace the aging UH-1 Iroquois, and is named after the Native American war leader, “Black Hawk”. The UH-60 was exported to a variety of U.S allies including the [[Australian Defence Force]], entering Australian service in 1987. '''S-70A-9''' is the official designation for the Australian export variant. The UH-60 weighs 10,624 lb (4,819 kg), is 65 feet (19.81 m) long, 54 feet (16.46 m) wide (wingspan), and 16 ft 10 in (5.13 m) tall. The UH-60 has a top speed of 183 mph (294.51 km/h). The UH-60M has improved wide chord rotor blades, improved engines, improved durability gearbox, an Integrated Vehicle Health Management System computer, and a new glass cockpit.
